Annunciation Is Thought to be Leonardo's earliest complete work of Leonardo Da Vinci. (Circa 1472–1475)
Leonardo da Vinci was an artist, inventor, and had an ever growing interest in anatomy and nature. When researching Leonardo Da Vinci it is hard to not to feel as though you are apart of the renaissance. Today he remains best known for his art, including two paintings that remain among the world’s most famous and admired, Mona Lisa and The Last Supper. Art, da Vinci believed, was indisputably connected with science and nature. Leonardo filled dozens of secret notebooks with inventions, observations and theories about pursuits from aeronautics to anatomy. Leonardo was a renaissance genius of his time being self taught for anatomy and many of his engineering projects. Leonardo was the first of his time to draw an anatomical fetus. And he had created many inventions years before others for example flight, the bicycle and the scuba suit.

The Last Supper Circa 1494-1498 By Leonardo da Vinci
"Every elemement of the pictorial composition is involved in this profound transformation. The attitudes and gestures not only represent physical motions but also are the expression of emotional reactions, each one individually characterized..One apostle quickly rises from his seat, another leans forward towards Christ, another draws back. The apostles draw closer together in lively groups which, as the figures seperate and join up, leave irregular intervals among them."(2) (Many still question the symbolism behind this piece that Leonardo Da Vinci left behind, questions that will never be clearly answered. But Many take notice of the hands of the apostles, )
Portrait of Mona Lisa, also known as La Gioconda, the wife of Francesco del Giocondo; This painting is painted as oil on wood. The original painting size is 77 x 53 cm (30 x 20 7/8 in) and is owned by France and is on the wall in the Louvre in Paris, France. This figure of a woman, is a remarkable instance of Leonardo's sfumato technique of soft, heavily shaded modeling. The Mona Lisa's enigmatic expression, which seems both alluring and aloof, has given the portrait universal fame.
The portrait is said to be "the best known, the most visited, the most written about, the most sung about, the most parodied work of art in the world."(4) Mona Lisa has clearly inspired many. It has been the focus of the world. It is clear she will not stop being a consistant inspirartion. To the right you will see the original, a newly discovered version of the Mona Lisa and below is a link for current artwork found on Pintrest. |

Anatomical Drawing's by Leonardo da Vinci
Drawings done by Leonardo were very impeccable for his time he was one of the first to draw a fetus. His drawings were mostly anatomically correct and many believe were not given enough credit in the medicinal world. |
